Who we are
Professional Beauty Care ("PBC", "we", "us") is a professional membership organisation for the beauty industry, operating in Ontario, Canada. You can reach us at admin@professionalbeautycare.ca.
What we collect
We only collect personal information that you choose to give us. On this website, that means the contact form. When you submit it we receive:
- your first and last name;
- your email address;
- your phone number;
- the profession you select, and the subject you select;
- your city or region, if you enter one;
- the message you write.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, financial information, government identification, or health information through this form.
Cookies, analytics and tracking
This website sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no advertising pixels and no third-party tracking scripts. We do not build profiles of visitors and we cannot recognise you when you return.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly all websites, our host records standard technical information when a page is requested, including your IP address, browser type and the page requested. This is used to serve the site and to protect it from abuse.
This website also loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Doing so sends your IP address to Google's servers as part of that request.
How we use your information
We use what you send us to reply to you, to answer questions about membership, the Academy or partnership, and to keep a record of the correspondence. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
We will not add you to a marketing mailing list on the basis of a contact form submission alone.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of service providers to run this website. Each only receives what it needs to do its job, and each is bound by its own privacy terms.
- Formspree — receives and delivers contact form submissions to us. Submissions are stored in our Formspree account as well as being emailed to us.
- Netlify — hosts this website and records the standard technical request information described above.
- Google — provides the typefaces this site loads, and provides our email through Google Workspace, which is where your message arrives and is stored.
These providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information held in another country may be accessible to the courts and law enforcement of that country.
How long we keep it
We keep correspondence for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and to keep a reasonable business record, and then delete it. If you would like your message and details deleted sooner, ask us and we will do it.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to our use of it at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
Write to admin@professionalbeautycare.ca and we will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This website is intended for working professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority in their province.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS, and we choose service providers that we consider reputable. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to other sites
Where we link to other organisations, their privacy practices are their own and this policy does not apply to them.
Changes
We may update this policy as the organisation and this website change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected here.
